Ruth, the description of Blenheim apricots is absolutely captivating, but it reminds me of another apricot experience worth exploring—the Wachauer Marille in Austria.
Do you know them? Have you tasted them?
These apricots are so exceptional that they’ve been awarded a Denomination of Origin. Their sweet-sour, almondy, and slightly spicy aroma is unforgettable, especially when freshly harvested.
If you’re a fan of exquisite fruit, I’d suggest planning a visit to the Wachau region in Austria during July. It’s the heart of the Marille season, and the orchards, local festivals, and even traditional Marille dishes make for an unforgettable culinary and cultural experience. I imagine it would be a story—and a taste—you’d love to share!
Your gift guide is my absolute favorite. I look forward to it every year and earmark more than my wallet can part with. Luckily, I usually end up with a little something for myself, and, more satisfyingly, something unique and wonderful for a friend or two. Thank you, Ruth, and happy holidays to you and yours.
That spoon is so gorgeous! Do you know that John Derian has seasonal collections for Target? I've bought a lot of fun gifts there - especially the fruit-shaped melamine plates and bowls and big platters, very well priced: https://tinyurl.com/yetb8vn2
Just wanted to say that I ordered the apricots and oh my goodness, I can't stop eating them. I was going to give one bag of slabs as a gift but they're already half-way gone. Looks like I'll have to order more before the holidays!
Apricot King apricots are fantastic. Patti sold me 60 lbs of them fresh in July for chutney and jam. There’s nothing like them. And the dried ones make the BEST gifts!!! And don’t forget the toffee. It’s amazing. Oh, and the dried pears, even the prunes are wonderful. But really, it’s about the apricots.
Great tips! Ordered the apricots 🙏🏽
