I came to your Long Beach event and it was terrific. The new book is so charming and lovely! I recently read (and cooked my way through) My Year in the Kitchen and had the best time. Thank you!

It was a real pleasure to meet you at Chi Spacca. Thank you so much for signing my pre-ordered book. Talking to you in person was the highlight of the day for me and my husband, Gerry. He was thrilled to find out you are related to his former colleague. ❤️

This comment has nothing to do with these amazing menus and food discussions - I'm in the middle of reading your new book and enjoying it so much! I have to force myself to wait until bedtime so I can savor it and don't plow through it in one sitting - and I'm going to eat every oyster the way Stella does for the rest of my life.

Friends and I had dinner at Rose and LeFavour in the early 80's. A fabulous multi-hour experience. I still remember Bombay Madness and the magnum of Wente Brothers Late Harvest riesling we had with dessert. He was a talent. Thanks for reminding me.

Returned to Mustards two weeks ago, it is as good as ever. My first visit was ±1984, not long after the era of which you write. Great times!

The cake looks phenominal! I can almost taste it. And, the memories of Mustard's Grill. Dad had a ranch in Santa Rosa and we'd drive over the hill to enjoy Napa. On one drive Dad asked me where I'd most like to have dinner (knowing my bent to the kitchen and my cooking dreams). I said, most definitively, "Mustard's Grill. We have to go." I think he was figuring on me wanting Taylor's Refresher. We went to Mustard's a few nights later and had a delightful meal. I remember the salad being very close to magical and the whole experience perfect. Dad had a beautiful steak and I the fish. My newlywed daughter and her husband are on their way up to Napa soon. I'll have to send them to Mustards! So glad to remember it with such love. Thanks!

I need to know what was inside that cake. Please tell. And I love Mustards, was there in February for a lunch of one crab cake, a pile of skinny fried onion rings, and macaroni and cheese accompanied by a mai tai.

I had the pleasure of living across the street from the French Laundry (especially if i parked my car before it opened) and Don and Sally were treasured friends…
