Ruth, we read Save Me the Plums and My Kitchen Year a few months ago. As a result, when La Briffe showed up, we were so excited; it was like being able to keep up with a friend because you keep posting things that take us back to events that we enjoyed reading in the books - especially loved that story about the chef who helped Nick grow out of his food problem. Anyhow, so glad you are doing this! Thank you.
That Burlap and Barrel website was so great. I don't think I have ever enjoyed reading an FAQ more...and I followed some of the hyperlinks and learned how to make a tornado in a jar...! How did I not ever know about that when my kids were little and I did all sorts of rainy day kitchen science projects? I'll be showing the teenager tonight and will ignore the eye-rolls.
Ruth, I watched the trailer for Food and Country which seems to be about the conflicts between farmers and government. I hope the film touches on the rest of the story, for example, the issues of public health and sustainability.
It's all there: sustainability, the push to become regenerative, what our food policy has done not only to our health but also to our communities. We made this trailer because we're going to spend a day in DC talking to people on the Ag committee. The great thing is that food turns out to be a completely bipartisan issue; people on both sides of the aisle are interested.
Ruth, I love your writing. I’m right there with you, eating and enjoying it all at 37 weeks pregnant.
The first time I ate at Momofuku we ordered a jar of pickles for the table, and I'm still thinking about them 15 years later.

My kid adored momofuku, too. It was a necessary stop every time we visited NY it was the back drop of at least 2 of his birthdays.
That's good to hear. Please let us know where and when the documentary will be shown.
