Because it’s Christmas, I’m thinking about my family. If you have a little time, I thought I might introduce you to my dad. This website, Ernst Reichl, Wide Awake Typographer, is about his work as a book designer.
These menus are all from the forties. What fascinates me is how enormous they all are, how freely they range. Is there anything that Lindy, famous for its cheesecake, didn’t serve? The Trader Vic’s menu is from the original Oakland, California location. And do note the line at the bottom of the Cafe Chambord menu about the President’s request.
Have always loved how you write. Your writing is both tantalizing and inviting. Sharing what you love is a gift that I am so grateful for being a recipient of.
