A Few More Notes from the Road

In Portland, had a really fun meal at Naomi Pomeroy's new Expatriate; moody dark bar with great cocktails and Southeast Asian inspired drinking snacks.  Favorite bites?

Naomi's version of James Beard's onion rings - slightly different than the ones in my book - but an onion sandwich is always delicious.

and her sneaky, salty shrimp toast.  I could eat these forever.
